Since WRs seem to be a hot topic, let's talk 2014 WR corps

Dural played some, so we must assume the staff is hot on him (6 catches).

Leslie also caught a pass, and he will be a senior next year (JUCO).

D'quille notwithstanding, Avery Peterson, Diarse and Kevin Spears all look to fill the gap, assuming Landry and Beckham follow their QB to the NFL.

Wright and Boone will graduate. Armand Williams will be a senior - perhaps Cam will find him some spots as a hybrid WR/TE, but I assume that's what Desean Smith will do.

I just wonder how Armand Williams never got on the field much before now, with as athletic as he is - if not WR, I thought he could be converted to safety. I guess Beckham and Landry got so good, so quickly, they also crowded out Boone and Wright, as well.

Quille will come in and be our #1 threat right away. Hopefully Leslie can beef up a little bit and mature under the system and be the #2 or #3 option. Dural didn't seem very good to me but who knows. It's between him\noil\quinn if you ask me for the 3rd spot.

I don't know why, but I am confident at least one of them (landry/obj) stays.

If you're speaking of Quille, look for Noil, Quinn and Dupre to make some splashes.

I just don't expect any true freshman to come in and play, unless it is a clear talent advantage - experience in the system is an edge, all other things being equal. While Quinn may be ready to play right now, I think Dupre and Speedy may need to put on a little weight first. I would bet money that the one that picks up the run blocking part of the position gets on the field first - I remember how good a run blocker Landry was when he was younger.

Honestly, I think that's why Boone has continued to see the field, some, because he's a pretty good run blocker himself (just stone hands ).

As one should. Doesn't matter who it is, they will be the front runner for the Biletnikoff next season. That alone would get me to stay.

Wasnt he kind of a project when we took him? He may have just never developed.

I think Dural and Leslie will be a fine tandem next year with some of the younger guys filling in.

You'd stay in college with a new QB to try and win an individual award instead of being guaranteed a 2nd round slot, probably at worst? You're crazy then.

Yeah, it was a gamble - Petrino was the other coach looking at him. I just thought with his athleticism he would have made some sort of impact - I occasionally see him on special teams. Sad - kid that big with a 42" vertical leap.

Must have been. Or things we don't know about.

I think the game experience was important for Dural this year - Leslie came from JUCO, so I wasn't as worried - he was more of a known entity. Quille should actually come in and project to start, assuming OBJ and Landry declare as expected.

Maybe it's just me, but even if both go ( and i think they will ) WR is not a position i'm worried about, QB is where the biggest worry for me.

Yea, but he didnt have the body type coming in to play. Maybe putting on weight slowed him down i.e. Deangelo Petterson, and he has just been passed by everyone on the DC.

I think Dural will be good.

Leslie is a bust, IMO. Too skinny, not a natural WR.

Diarse can play a role. These true frosh should all have big roles.
