Okay so I know either one you chose you have to install the games content to the hard drive, but I've heard that some features are only available if you download the game digitally.

So I am asking first has anyone tried both ways to know if there truly is a difference or complication in choosing a disc based game versus the digital copy?

Second which way would y'all suggest to aqcuiring the games I want to get?

TIA

But serious question do you lose features by installing a disc versus a digital download?

It would be a lot easier on me to install a disc to the console but I'd rather not lose functionality for that convenience.

I'm a top.

But really, you pretty much install the game to the HDD, so I doubt there is much of a difference.

I'm going to keep buying the actual disc until the digital prices come down. At least I'll be able to get $20-30 for a game if I don't want it after a month of playing.

im going all digital. i dont have to worry about keeping up with or disc scratching and its pretty awesome being able to switch and play any game without getting up and changing discs.

im really particular about my media collections. everything has to be the same. it would drive me crazy to have half digital and half disc copies

This was what I was thinking of doing with game I'd would play that much but ones like BF4, FIFA 14, FORZA 5 & NBA 2K14 I'd like to digitally download so I can switch back and forth in a moments notice if I'd like because I'd have them for awhile.

Im hoping for a price drop for digital game but I dont see it happening. Which sucks because they are saving on manufacturing the disc and box as well as the supplier not having to get their cut.

digital copies are not taxed so i guess they are a bit cheaper

Plan on selling? Disc.

Plan on not? Download.

I think I prefer digital, but the game downloads a lot faster off a disc than from the net.

Okay that's what I was thinking myself.

Also the only real issue in having the disc opposed to the download is having to have the disc in the console when you want to play the game, correct?

You can't install and play it without the disc no?

If you download them digitally, can you install them on multiple systems and play them at the same time?

Edit: I mean someone else playing the same game on a different system at the same time but only buying one copy of the game.

They WERE going to go true next gen so that you never needed the disc after the install until the whiners fricking ruined it for everyone.

Again... they WERE going to do some kind of sharing until the fricking whiners ruined everything.

Started downloading Just Dance this morning. It's taken about 10 hours at last check, at about 80% before I powered down. Gotta treat it like a crock pot, set it to download, go to work, then by the time you get back it's all good to go. Just Dance must just be a massive file, because Killer Instinct only took 30 minutes.

Seems to work just fine though.

I know I actually liked the first idea.

BF4 will be my only non-digital game, because I am trading my 360 version in for the Xbox One version for $10. After that it is all digital.

All digital here, I picked up ghost on disk the first night because I figured there was a good chance I would trade it in, and it gave me something to do while BF4 & Madden were downloading.

Only problems are they take forever to download. And your very limited when playing while downloading.

Only thing keeping me away from going all digital. I think long download times can sort of be expected though a few days after launch.
