Game- Michigan State vs Northwestern

As the reciever was falling with the ball, the defender hit him and the helmets made contact. He couldn' t hit him anywhere else since the offensive player was falling. It was initially ruled a personal foul, then they came back and ejected the guy. Terrible call. Thoughts of anyone else that saw it?

ETA- was on phone didn't see other threads.

Player is down when he hits the ground. Didn't need to be tackled if falling with the ball.

So defensive players have to let offensive players fall forward? They also have to assume that the offensive player won't get their balance?

until he's down, there's also the possibility of a fumble, especially if he gets hit.
