If you were Jerry Jones, what would you do to fix the season?

I'm serious as a bad pack of heart worms. put yourself in his position. you have pissed away 20 years of good will after bringing glory back to dallas with 3 super bowls. now there are kids graduating college in Dallas who have no memory of Super Bowls.

The only thing he has done well since Jimmy was dismissed was hire Parcells. he got screwed because Parcells was ready to retire...then he hires some shitty people. Phillips and Garrett are garbage as head coaches. decent enough coordinators but not the men you want shaping a team and going into battle.

now what do you do? I tell you what I do. I throw the bank at one of these guys as soon as the season's over:

1) Nick Saban/David Shaw
2) Kevin Sumlin/James Franklin
3) Jim Mora Jr/ Dabp Sweeney

Okay…I'm imaging myself as a guy with millions of dollars…..owner of an NFL football team……where's this bad part?

I can't.

I have a modicum of insight, as well as an appreciation that I'm not cut out for every job.

I also wouldn't put my own selfish pride before a professional football team.

The obvious thing to do is the thing that he will never do:

1) admit his own ineptitude and remove himself from all day to day football operations
2) hire any one of a dozen qualified general managers to run the team's football decisions including the draft, the salary cap, and the coaching hires.
3) Allow the GM to make decisions autonomously and evaluate the GM every four years.

You have to think that he's been trying to throw insane amounts of money at top college coaches and successful proven guys like Gruden for a while now. If he would just hire an actual GM and take the backseat he might have the chance to land one.. It's a good job to be in if you take him out of the equation.

Payton rammed the ball down Parcells throat in his first game against them. It was pretty apparent that Payton resented the fact that Parcells wouldn't let Payton open up the offense while he was there. He stuck the dagger in Parcells leaving the Cowboys.

But Red Jesus was a genius before he ever set foot into Cowboy blue.
