Just watched the movie they did about William Hartnell and the filming of the first season. Sad that he went out like that.

An Adventure in Space and Time was amazing and a great primer for the upcoming episode... and there is a beautiful cameo at the end, but you'll have to watch it to find out. I think BBC America will re-air it some time tomorrow

Happy 50th Anniversary Whovians!

An Adventure In Space and Time is pretty awesome, and kind of heart warming.

Amy Pond is unattractive and annoying. Rory was a much better companion.

Give me Clara any day.

No, just no.

ETA: I would seriously put Amy down as the worst companion ever.

Doctor-wise:

Davison
Tennant
Troughton
T. Baker
McCoy
C. Baker
Smith
Hartnell
McGann (based only on length)
Ecclestone
Pertwee

I just started watching the doctor, and have really enjoyed it so far. I'm not sure the best to start as a new viewer though. I plan to watch tonight, though I'll be a bit lost. I've most only watched David tenant as I'm a fan of his.

True story: I had never even heard of this show until about 6 months ago. Is it really that good or is it mostly bandwagon?

It's really that fricking good

ETA: This ep, however, is fan service. It moved the story, but you'll miss a lot if you haven't watched any beforehand.

Just saw it on the replay. Blah blah blah spoilers...

Not a huge fan of the Deus Ex Machina redoing of the Time War but that's par for the course with Davies and Moffat. Didn't really care for the interwoven Zygon stuff, either. But hey it was worth it for Tom hamming it up at the end.

Davison

...was a whiny pansy. And Baker >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Tenant. He's too pretty, urbane, and GQ -- hipster generation fodder.

I'm encouraged by the casting of Capaldi. Older guy who the writers might not try too hard to portray as cool/trendy.
