Things are sure going great in H-town. Many of you know that the Astros RSN has failed miserably and has been forced into involuntarily bankruptcy. Well now Jim Crane has filed suit with the McClane Co. on the basis of fraud. The suit basically states that when Crane bought the club, one of the assets included in the price was McClanes ownership share of CSN-Houston. Crane says McClane knowingly misrepresented subscription rates in order to drive up the price.

I am an Astros fan, but IDGAF about them being on CSN as much as the Rockets. Astros are years away from being competitive, therefore I can wait until a deal gets done. The Rockets on the other hand need to get their shite together and kick CSN to the curb and let the people watch.

Astros are the most profitable team in baseball. See the Forbes article - too lazy to link. For Crane to do this...wow. Screw the Astros.

I know I'm in the minority here, especially amongst Astros fans, but I'm glad he's doing this.

I read on TCB yesterday that these cable companies just aren't going to budge. All the while, CSN is signing other clubs left and right.

Just seems like something is amiss here.

As for McClane, he wanted out. He drove the entire club into the ground and sold it for as much as possible and quick as possible. frick that old man. He's the reason we're having to endure all of this mess, IMO.

I agree. for someone who claims to be such a big Christian he sure seems like a shister on the business side of things. He really set the franchise back at least a decade with his mismanagement of the team after 2002. he literally stopped caring about the farm system at all after they moved into the new stadium. I hope Crane wins the suit but it is going to be a long drawn out deal.

Crane is having a press conference at 1:00 this afternoon. I'm sure there won't be much information shared that we don't already know.

Interesting because Drayton McLane was the primary donor for Baylor's stadium project. That money came directly from the sale of the Astros and was given as a way to lighten his tax burden.

Drayton deserves this IMO. He is the main one responsible for running this franchise into the ground
