If we had Akiem Hicks last year, it may have been better than having Mathieu. I can't imagine anyone gaining running yards on us last year with Hicks, Edwards, and Logan. Hicks would have been an All American, he is an animal.

If I remember we passed on Sentimore because Hicks was committed. As it turned out, we lost out on both.

I think Hicks was a JC guy; would he have had eligibility in '12?

Your logic is shite. The only reason Dj provide the extra benefits was to try to get him qualified.

DJ provided housing. Didn't help get him qualified. I did some research, and i dont think he would have had any eligibility. My bad, let just let this thread fade away.

Akiem Hicks' last year at LSU would have been 2010 or 2011.

DJ was the fall-guy unfortunately. I wish we still had him at LSU. Great man, great recruiter, great WR coach.

Small cookie jar mistake got blown up into a real mess by the LSU prof that interviewed Hicks when he first arrived on campus. Saw that DJ had texted him during quiet period on a non-LSU phone (which most coaches possess), whic is a big no-no. This prof was very anti-athlete as she thought they received way too many benefits (which they probably do). Got on a witch hunt and the rest is history...

You have any evidence of dj being a good wr coach? Because no one else does.

Can someone breakdown for me the difference between Hicks and Ha-Ha's infractions? Hicks gets the boot and the coach gets fired... Ha-Ha gets suspended for two clown shoes games...

One of them played for Alabama and the other one played for LSU.

We found out about Hicks before the season so we kept him from ever playing to avoid forfeiting any games (which is what should happen if an ineligible player plays). He wasn't ever suspended by the NCAA. Bama let theirs play and Emmert says no big deal.
