Worst Controllers Evar

What are/were the worst controllers put out for a gaming console? Is there a universally accepted answer to this, or is it all sort of a fanboi flame contest?

Looking back at them, they were god awful. But I don't remember having complaints at the time.

I actually think the GC controllers were pretty good. N64 controllers sucked, though.

I still feel like PlayStation controllers are some of the worst.

Much better than what PS offered at the time. Gamecube is such an underrated and forgotten about console. It had tons of great titles.

The only time the big original Xbox duke controllers were an issue is when you had to use the white or black buttons on the top. They just seemed so out of place. The rest of the controller actually felt just fine.
It has to be the N64 for me. Every time I play it with my friends now it take a little while to just remember how to use the damn thing.

think about Mario Kart. joystick in the middle to drive. A to, don't remember. B to brake. LB to hop. RB to power slide. Z??? fricking Z to shoot.

With the N64 controller I didn't know how to hold the damn thing. I hated trying to use the thumbstick with my left thumb. I guess it being the first of its kind coming from the older consoles.
I would grab the thumbstick with my left index finger and thumb to use it.

PS3 controllers are like a good pair of chucks- nice and plain, goes good with anything, comes in a bunch of cool colors, and gets better with time.
Xbox controllers are more like PF Flyers--pretty much the same thing, but shaped funny.

It's like they got the message that some people thought the PS controller was too small, then they went overboard in the other direction.
