I figured R2D2 and C3PO were a given.

Hopefully they'll get blown up in the first few minutes.

I have a bad feeling about this

That every two bit "confirmed" character will get an article about them.

Hopefully only huge characters like R2 D2 get articles, but you're probably right.

Beeps some cuss words, calls C a pussy, shuts down the garbage smashers on the detention level, saves the day, acts like a pimp.

How long does technology last in a galaxy far, far away? My iPhone is outdated every couple of years, but R2 is still going strong after a generation plus.

The "real" answer is because their civilization has been constant for about 10,000 years so they are much less on the cutting edge in innovation. The 2nd reason is R2 units are the SWU of mousetraps, it does the job so why make something "better"?

My phone does the job but they keep making ones that are "better". The type of shoes I wear work great but they keep making "better" ones of those too

But like I said though, the phone has been around maybe a century, the Iphone 6 years. The astromech droid had been around for at least 3000 bby (before the Battle of Yavin).
