Travelling from DFW to Baton Rouge

Have some aggie friends driving from Dallas to Baton Rouge for the game, and they were looking for some food recs.

Is there anywhere between Shreveport and Natchitoches that has good breakfast?

Return Trip

Between Lafayette and Alexandria. Any recs?

No. But Shreveport has an Another Broken Egg right off I-49 at the Pierremont/Hollywood exit. Or Strawn's, which is better, off the King's Hwy Exit of I-49.

Relay Station at the Frierson exit south of Shreveport serves up a pretty nice sausage biscuit. Nothing else once you get south of Shreveport.

There are several places on the river downtown Natchitoches and as said earlier, Leas Lunchroom Lecompte.

Tell them to stop at the Texas Best Smokehouse gas station when they need to fill up. There is one in Longview, I believe exit 596 off I-20. I always stop there on my drive home.
