Payton's quote from the locker room just now. Couldn't have more accurately described this game. I would have been pretty sick to lose to these guys again after nearly handing it away.

We were averaging 4.5 yards a carry and we only had 20 rushes. That's inexcusable.

It wasn't his play calling. The team just needs to tighten up. I was saying this going into half time. I've never seen such a dominated game by one team with the score like it was. We should have clobbered them.

I agree with this, Poster. As great of a playcaller as he is, and I'd have no one else as our coach, he over thinks sometimes, or tries power football to try to convince himself he can do it. The goal line series earlier in the 4th after Colston's long catch is a perfect example.

Yes it was. And it almost got Brees killed. You're playing Russian roulette when you're in must pass downs consistently against a team like the 49ers
