Harbaugh knows that without Davis and Reid, the 49ers likely go 6-4. That's would put them in the middle of a log jam to make the playoffs. So he's putting his concussed players at risk. This is Eric Reid's second concussion in 4 weeks and he will be the first player this season to not sit after two concussions. I'm a Saints fan so naturally want them to sit, but I'm also an Eric Reid fan. This Louisiana native and LSU product deserves better from his head coach. I'm glad CSP is making the right choice and sitting Vaccaro. I've lost what little respect I had for Harbaugh.

Oh, and where is Roger Goodell and his safety mafia?

What I've read is that he's wearing a visor during practice because he's still has light sensitivity. He's a player. He wants to play, but if you're a coach, it's your job to tell them no if you think their long term health is at risk, which his very well may be.

Lester, it's always the head coach's decision. A player, especially a rookie player, will never bench himself. The stigma and associated backlash would be far too great. The head coach has to take that decision out of his hands.

They have to get clearance from an independent neurologist

They activated a TE off the practice squad earlier today, so I'm not so sure that VD will play.

Darren Sproles played the week following his concussion. I mean, are there different kinds of concussions?

Yes, based on severity. Mild concussions usually don't require more than a week off from contact. I'm guessing Kenny's is more severe than Sproles' was.

First, this isn't his second concussion in four weeks. His first occurred in week two against the Seahawks.

Second, as already mentioned he has to be independerly cleared by a neurologist.

True.

But he should have the final decision.
