Just played a PS4 at Best Buy. It was ok. Controller is a lot better now but the games were no different than a PS3 or 360. Looks like it's gonna be a while before devs are able to fully utilize the power, because the 5 or so demos I played didn't strike me as "next gen" at all. Even the graphics were the same.

What demos did they have?

I had seen a review that graphics Battlefield 4 on the PS3 couldn't even be compared to the graphics on PS4.
That having been said, the review pretty much said what you did in that it will be a while before developers take advantage of the new functionality available in "next gen". I imagine the really "cool" stuff won't start coming through until next year.

FIFA '14
Knack
Some pinball game (this was the most fun I had)
Contrast (didn't work, demo wouldn't load)
Octodad (completely retarded game and the controls were so bad I had to stop playing)

Knack was pretty fun but there were really only two buttons, jump and punch. The pinball game was actually really enjoyable and had the best graphics.

FIFA was meh and I couldn't tell much of a difference from last gen.

I was most blown away by the controller, it's a huge upgrade from the DS3. The handles are bulbous now and they fit in your hand better. I noticed my index fingertips rested on the triggers naturally and I didn't have to do the claw like on the DS3.

Games in 1080P are just too difficult to pass up.

I'm on dat fence bro.

I wish they had a One controller to demo but they didn't. The controller is the final deciding factor for me. While I like the DS4, it's still a little on the small side and the light bar reflects on your tv screen. The only way to avoid the light bar reflection was to point it directly at the ground.

Which is why I don't understand games utilizing the light bar in game. The only way to see it is to look down and point the controller up, or just look at the glare on the tv.

How close to the TV are you? I can't imagine this being a problem where I sit.

I was a few feet from the screen.

You can probably do a reenactment at your house, just sit where you normally do and point a flashlight at the tv. Can you see the glare?

No I was being facetious, it's more of a glow.

I sit close to my tv in a recliner when I play so it's worrisome for me, but you might not notice it if you sit far away.

If there's an option to turn it off then the point is moot anyway, so hopefully there is.

While the light bar seems superfluous right now, in a couple years I'm sure there will be games that utilize it in a cool way.

I remember when the PS1 controller got analog sticks, you could click them in but nothing would happen. Then Ape Escape came along and made you click the analog sticks for essential functions, and now every game has that feature.
