Colt m1911- US stamped

I am thinking about purchasing a Colt m1911 government issue. Where is the best place to purchase a new one that I could select finish, color? I have also seen that the US stamped emblem on the side of some 1911, can you purchase a standard issue 1911with the stamp from the US military? If so where can purchase them?

That is the exact gun I want but someone had mentioned to me that this the standard issue model and not military issued which has a crest on it. Don't know if this is even something that is legal to own

That's a gov't issued model and it's perfectly legal to own them. Is this something you plan to shoot a lot or just collect?
