Only 8 the rest of the year and rushed for 195 yards the next week (56 the week before)

Through the Jets game this year (game 8), the Saints have given up 20 sacks and rushed for 242 yards (41 the week before)

Some of the sacks this year has come from Brees holding onto the ball too long. If there's one thing I'd critique in Brees' game right now, it would be that.

Are we trending towards another 2011 season? We need HFA this time though!

2011 was great until we locked up the 3rd seed in the NFC with a 13-3 record.

Yeah he doesn't seem to have as quick of a release. Could be either on the wr's or opposing defenses finding a way to make him look through his reads just a little longer

He kills zone. He's a bit less effective against press man. That has to do with receivers.

He's a master with the screen. He's probably the best with looking off the safety. He's 1st or 2nd with ball placement (Rodgers could be 1 or 2).

How about the long ball? I've never seen an elite NFL QB who threw a worse deep ball.

Matt Ryan's not elite.

Long ball has a lot more to do with receivers than the shorter throws. The receivers have to make plays on the long ball and can't just expect it to fall into their hands every time. Can't fault Brees for that.

check my other link. He's been the most accurate deep ball passer since 2009 with the highest completion %, way more touchdowns, and few interceptions. He broke the 50% mark on deep ball passes in 2011 with the next closest guy being around 40

And yet, the results say otherwise. His long ball completion rate is one of the best, and he's never had a truly "elite" deep threat(yeah, yeah . . . he's had some good ones, but not elite). Maybe he's just "lucky".
