Mike Nesmith, just a Monkee or an under appreciated song writer?

The following is a link to 10 Monkee songs that Mike wrote. Check them out when you have the time.

The Monkees as a whole are underappreciated

Compare this song from 1967:

"What Am I Doing Hangin' Round?"

to this 1968 track from Gram Parsons' International Submarine Band, acclaimed as country-rock pioneers:

"Luxxury Liner"

nesmith is great. i really like alot of monkees stuff too.

Propinquity is really nice song, but i prefer the Ian Matthews version. starts around 2:40

that Ian Matthews record, Valley Hi, is really good. Nesmith produced, songs from Richard Thompson, Jackson Browne, and some others.

I have been a Monkees fan since the first time I saw their show on Nick @ Nite back in 85/86!
