We stuffed the run pretty good with the exception of the 2nd Dallas drive. What do you think was the cause of the improvement?

Motivation? Dome field advantage? TOP/Running game? Dallas Cowboy incompetence?

Should we expect repeat performances? The defense and the running game gave me wood.

Not to take away anything from our D, which is clearly legitimately good this year, but:

Eh, they had that one drive where they basically ran all the way down the field. Then they were down by so much so they basically had to just start passing.

Not being a Debbie downer, just wouldn't say we were all world stopping the run last night. Although, I'm starting to think that's just a by product of Ryan's defense. He likes playing with an extra safety so often which is great against the pass and blitzing, but can be detrimental when they line it up and pound us.

once we got a 2 score lead, dallas pretty much abandoned the run at the ratio they were going at.

It is so important for this offense to click early and often.

once we have a 2 score lead on teams, they are cooked.

Maybe. But if they could "run it down our throats", they should have. Would have kept Drew off the field. In stead, we kept Romo off the field.

Familiarity with the Cowboys' offense, for starters. Ryan coached against them in practice over 100 times so I'm sure that helped in knowing the most effective ways to stop them.

Also the defense seemed hungrier and more pissed off after last week's performance. They came in energized and fed off the crowd. Sometimes you just can't quantify that.

And like you mentioned, TOP from our dominating run game helped. But an enormous factor that isn't getting enough discussion is the play of Lewis. He straight up erased Dez Bryant from the game last night. Eliminating him means eliminating 75% of their big play abilities.

On the long run, both Jordan and Humber were being held. For the most part, I saw us being in the correct alignment.

Next week will be the real test.

We know they are going to run. Now, you have to stop them. Can they? Because Kaepernick can't throw to save his life this year. And if Vernon Davis can't play (I expect him to play), that makes it way worse.

A team not dedicated to the run unlike the jets.

Lets hope RR can adjust when we play frisco and seattle.

We got off the field on 3rd down. Against the Jets, they may have had some big runs, but the 3rd and longs they converted crushed us

We're good for a few run stuffs a drive that put the offense in 2nd/3rd in long situations

They ran for 5.6 YPC, which is above our season average. Jets ran for 5.5 YPC
