Without the sacks, 72 yards. As bad as I hate to admit it, Bama is able to do this mainly because of coaching. They are so fundamentally sound and disciplined on defense. There is no doubt in my mind, we have the players to achieve the same results. Just not the means to teach it. We will improve on defense, but our scheme and the ability to teach will never allow us to be that dominate against a balanced attack. Just ain't happening. Kirby Smart is going to make a damn good head coach at some point.

What the frick ever. It had nothing to do with Bama being fundamentally sound. Hill was averaging 4yd per carry yet only touched the ball 13 fricking times. THAT was your coaching mistake.

Their lines were dominating our lines, both sides of the ball. That was the game in a nutshell.

They always have the best lines, and thats a big reason that they beat everyone.

It's as simple as this.

It wore us down in the 4th quarter.

Hill had 13 carries - Magee had 9. No excuse for Hill not to have 20. I realize neither were especially productive, but when you have a back like Hill, you ride him.

it's not like Magee was not productive

Take out the toss leads and the sacks, and LSU was probably averaging 5 yards a rush. But then again, that's the problem, Les loves him some toss lead.

He had 3.4 yards per carry.
Hill was @ 3.2.

BC Hill is your best back(and perhaps the best player on the team). You ride that player and hope that he makes something happen.

Hill was frustrating though, as he seemed to try to bounce outside too much. Magee was hitting the holes better.

Like I said, I don't see the criticism.

When a team is playing from behind they are more likely to abandon the run. I really wouldn't read into the rushing total very much.
