At the height of Miles' success, he was a very aggressive play call. 5 for 5 on 4th down against Florida. Deep ball against Auburn. Multiple fake punts/kicks.

While unconventional, his aggression usually paid off as the players believed.

It seems that ever since being billed as the Mad Hatter, a nickname Miles clearly despised, he has gone out of his way to play conservatively seemingly in an attempt to shake this national perception.

Anyone else notice this lack of aggression in recent years, and, think it has contributed to "the demise"?

Wasn't Tommy Tuberville known as the riverboat gambler? Where has he gone? A lot of it is luck.

The deep ball vs Auburn was a stupid play. Should have just taken the gimme fg. If that play lasts a half second longer we lose. Tells you all you need to know about "lesticles"

Miles repeatedly said back then that there was nothing mad about those play calls, but rather calculated risks based on the talent and preparation of the team. I just don't think we have the personnel to trust those risks anymore. And that starts in the trenches, on both sides of the ball.

The Mad Hatter was wounded on 1/9 and the 2012 Alabama game killed him.

The failed fake calls in the game last season killed Les' aggressiveness.

4th and 12 fake last year may have been the stupidest play call in the history of college football.

he got blamed for the bama loss last year for the tricks he tried to pull. SO this year he keeps them in the bag and everyone is asking where did the trickery go. Miles cant win.
