Saban expressed the ultimate joie de vivre last night, something we haven't seen him do, probably ever...why?

My theory:

Saban has effectively destroyed the program that he himself built.

What more could feed an ego like Saban's than simultaneously building a championship program and then using it to destroy the one you built all at the same time? It's the ultimate power trip.

Definitely weird. The opposite of acting like you've been there.

Apparently LSU was pretty bitter about the 2 (and SEC Titles) he brought you guys.

Saban won 1 NC while he was here. He also had a couple of pretty "meh" years and went out with a bowl loss to an average Iowa team.

Let's say he did the same at 'Bama, then left & ended up landing at Auburn. Then, he started to have tons of success annually.

Yeah, you guys wouldn't be bitter at all.

Fact of the matter is you can't compare Saban's tenures at LSU & Bama then try to pull some stupid false equivalency between the two.

go on...

His on the field exuberance was nothing like I have ever seen from him.

Usually the guy is just an insufferable prick, even with a win, it's never good enough.

Last night something weird was definitely going on.

He's usually fairly stoic but he acted like a hotel maid who won the lottery

He's getting old and soft and losing the Eye of the Tiger.

Next year, he starts slipping!

Bama fan,

Thanks for hijacking my thread. Now it's about Saban leaving Bama.

The whole point of the thread was to point out that his joy FAR EXCEEDED anything that he has ever shown because he actually KILLED the monster that he created (LSU) with his new monster (BAMA).

That is the ultimate power trip, proving not only can you be a winner anywhere you go, but you can destroy your own creation.

You don't remember the "Baton Rouge hates NOLA. They aren't Saints' fans anyway. Not surprising they supported Saban instead of their home team" crap?

This.

No one was mad when Saban left for Miami (other than the fact that he did it on Christmas). People were upset when he lied about leaving Miami at all and then went to our rival.
