honestly, to me it looked like we matched up ok early on, but just don't have the depth to keep the big guys from getting tired...

i actually think the coaches did a great job in the first half. bama adjusted, we didn't, but it didn't matter as much b/c the talent gap was seen abundantly in the 2nd half. it was like 2011 LSU against everyone other than bama. kill them by running it down their throats over and over

I'm sorry but I've lost all confidence in les miles! Why is OM doing so well after one good/ok recruiting class??? Beating LSU anyway! We need change and not any coordinator! The head coach! We can find someone much better! Frankly I like ULs coach!!! Took them and turned them around right away. Or someone with an aggressive out the box type of FB mind! Creative and wants to win a game by 50 when possible! And for anyone saying he wouldn't cut it?? Look at Gus Malzan or Hugh Freeze? High school coaches with a new young attitude! I say the Boisie State head man! Their are lots of people out there! How about the Louisville head man? Or the Vandy coach? They would all recruit better and be much better head coaches! Look at what they do with the small schools!!! Sry but I'm done with Les!

We have a soft, underperforming DL.

We have a LB corps made up of backup quality level players notwithstanding Alexander (though he had a bad game last night).

We have a couple talented young CBs. Mills is average.

We have an enormous, gaping black hole at S. Thompson is an above average player.

The real problem is...we can't fill our most pressing needs because we lack the talent. I'm assuming the guys we are playing would not be playing if we had someone else.

With the exception of Bama, what program has no down years due to talent loss?

I will give you a guess--NONE!

i still like our DTs, but they have played too many snaps b/c we don't have depth

our DEs are solid, but not impact guys

The talent revolves around cronyism with the coaching staff.
Chavis is in charge of the LB's but the LB's are undersized and can't tackle. The DE's are undersized to handle the 300lb Oline. Finally, the DB's are just plain sorry and slow.
We need to fire the Oline coach and the TE coach. In addition we need to fire the DB coach. Also, hire a LB coach and let Chavis be a DC only. We also need to let Cam Cameron bring in a Oline coach and TE coach.

The talent was not equal. However, the more glaring difference was...the better tackling by Bama all night. They hit and drove LSU players back. Our tackling was less crisp and less drive.

Bama just put an all out assault on our OL in the 2nd half and we just couldn't handle it

Yes sir. . that is the part that changed the game for Bama. They had grown men that stepped up and blocked in the run game and stopped our run game.

Talent looked equal...

Recruiting hasn't panned out. The talent gap between Bama and LSU is pretty large

Skill positions looked close, but their lineman were bigger and stronger.

Can you list some examples of that? I thought that there were some very good coaching battles going back and forth between the 2 staffs. Certainly, at times they hit a good matchup, but so did we. I definitely wouldn't say they out-schemed us. In fact, I'd say Cam had Nick's defense exposed at times.

This, on the other hand, looked to be the case. Explained why things got progressively worse, the deeper into the game we got. It doesn't matter what your playcall is, if you can't physically execute it vs your opponent.

Talent was not equal. Bama came with a better D and a better o-line. CJ Mosley made himself some money last night.....

And as a whole, Bama was way more disciplined than LSU. I dont know if that comes down to coaching or player IQ.

eta: LSU needs more depth in the front 7. DT's are good, but they cant go at it for as many snaps as they do without rest.

OK. The consensus is Bama has FAR more talent than LSU. How can that be????? LSU is LA's "flagship" university and heavyweight recruiting in the region. How can Bama's talent be that far superior to LSU's???

The talent gap is really not that big. The answer is the coaching staffs. Saban has his team so much better prepared than Les we will never compete again.
