Woods, fields, marsh?

I have been on some great marsh hunts, but I hunt 95% rice fields and really love the convenience of waking up late, not having a boat, etc.

Haven't duck hunted in a few years because I don't have the opportunity to. I actually have more fun sitting in the stand now

NWLA -

Public timber/ponds and a small private timber spot 10 minutes from my house.

Arkansas -

Public timber on the White River.

My rice field 5 miles from my family compound. This is definately the most convenient, sadly not as productive as the timber.

Strictly marsh for now. Good hunting but a little far.

Would love to get in a lease a little closer/easier within the next few years.

Hunt in a cpl diff spots – field hunt for geese 20 minutes from the house (Canadas up here) w/ the odd duck and then late in the year switch to big water – the St Lawrence River (Mallards, blacks, goldeneyes and a few geese) and hunt out of blinds made up of rock. It would be a tennis shoe hunt if it wasn’t 10-20 degrees.

Just north of Natchez on the Miss river next to some oil exec's feed pond, where he only shoots mallards with a camera.
