Villavaso Out as Vandebilt Catholic HC

A spokesman with the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux confirmed today that Brad Villavaso is no longer the head football coach at Vandebilt Catholic.
The spokesman declined to discuss the reasons behind Villavaso’s departure from the football team, citing personnel privacy issues. The spokesman also declined to say if Villavaso was dismissed or resigned from his coaching duties.
“We acknowledge his years of service and we wish him the best,” the spokesman said.
Calls made to Villavaso haven’t been returned.
The diocese spokesman said the school hasn’t named an interim coach for the remainder of the season as of today. He said the current Terriers assistant coaches will split the head coaching duties.
Vandebilt, which has a 6-3 overall and 3-0 District 8-4A record this season, will host district rival Ellender in its season finale at 7 p.m. Friday. The Terriers are coming off a 28-13 win over Morgan City last week, which helped it clinch at least a share of the District 8-4A title.

I agree hes a very good and well respected coach. I heard some things, he stood his ground on an issue and didnt fold.

The source mentioned that Villavaso addressed the team before its practice today, where he told the team he was dismissed and that he was taking a few days off to seek legal matters against Vandebilt.

I'm sure more will come out on this soon, and without casting premature judgement I will say this.
Vandebilt's administration would never stand up for just any random player when it comes to a dispute in the athletic department. I know this from personal experience with David Kiefe, mentioned in the article. You can bet that the anonymous player is "connected" somehow.
That says nothing about whether the coach is right or wrong, just on how justice is typically meted out at Vandebilt Catholic. Some people are definitely more equal than others there.

Most people I know are saying his dismissal and the reasons behind it are a joke and typical VCH politics. I know zero details as to what happened, but I'll sit back and wait for the real story before picking sides. As far as I know (at least when I was there) coach v was very well liked by everyone.

He left in 2007 or 2008 to coach at Ole Miss, iirc.
