Its easily arguable that Bama is the number three team in country based upon body of work by FL state and Oregon. FL state has crushed good competition. Oregon laid bigger lickin on Tennessee than Bama. Had Mett not shite the but at Ole Miss, LSU would be ranked number 4 or 5. Number 3 vs 5. Would this change your prediction on game, national perception or perhaps vegas line?

The Ole Miss game changed the fans' minds. It's a good things the fans' minds don't play the game.

if your really going on body of work bama probably would not be in the top 5 IMHO. They have teams who have played much better opponents than bama.

and i bring up this post to back my opinion up

Tennessee played Oregon close to start. Not so against Bama. A&M is a better win than Miami, regardless of their ranking. They struggled to beat Wake Forest. Florida had 6 turnovers and Miami barely beat them. Bama has played more teams that were ranked at one time.

And sometimes loses like the ole miss loss, which have caused many people to jump ship, have a way of refocusing a team.

Very true, hopefully that loss combined with the horrid first half of the Furman game can really make this team hungry and kick arse against the gumps

Although you didn't answer the question bc your defending Bamas number 1 ranking. But if Bama had been ranked let's say number 12 in preseason, would they be Number 1 today? Don't think so. And preseason rankings and what a team did last year means absolutely nothing.

your correct preseason rankings mean nothing. if they were 12 then sadly they might be 1 today because there "bama" but my stand and prediction on the game has always been the same. We have the talent to match them, our coaches let us down alot. If we dont make stupid mistakes, if our coaches coach a clean game and really have our players ready i know we can win. but if its like ole miss all over again then it could be a long day,

it doesn't have anything to do with rankings. It has everything to do with watching them play on the field.

This is one of the problems, we keep hoping the last game was that "turn the corner game" but I've yet to see the switch thrown.

Can LSU win this game? By all means they can but after getting manhandled by a depleted OM team my optimism is not high.

Alabama held them to 0 points and 205 total yards while putting up 25 points and 434 yards. LSU on the other hand gave up 27 points and 525 yards while only managing 388 yards.

My perception of the gap is not based on ranking but what I've seen on the field this year.
