Is this what college football is supposed to be?

To have The #1 recruiting class every year and dominate everybody? And if you don't do that you shouldn't think about being competitive? I was just reading the article by Harris in the advocate and he says "We can parse out all the aspects of impending doom, but this space is limited." OMG, 99.9% of college football players should stop thinking about being competitive, what a piece of junk he wrote.

Bama can sign the number 1 recruiting class 10 years in a row for all I give a shite. They still struggle against us year by year and fail to beat us in their own house.

National Championships are all that matter. If you cannot lace up and compete for one every year then go back to playing intramural sports.

There were three 10-0 (ND, K-State, Oregon) teams ahead of Alabama last year. Stanford converted a 4th down to force OT and eventually beat Oregon. We were one busted play away from having the Ducks as national champs last year.
TL;DR - As good as the gumps are, even they need the dice to roll their way.

So you think Stanford and Oregon are playing intramural sports?

quote:Effectively yes. The PAC-12 has been so weak for so long they don't much matter. It's like a bunch of fraternities playing each other and no one really cares. Until USCw rises to the top again and/or the SEC significantly falters that is unlikely to change. Harvard-Yale is more interesting than Stanford-Oregon.

I hope that was sarcasm.

No sarcasm. If you cannot be the best at what you do, then go do something else.

What a beautiful planet this would be once again if they did.

I just laugh at people who say they want Oregon to play bama because they think Oregon would beat em

On Oregon's best day and Alabama's worst anything could happen.

name the teams that are in the running every year for the nat. championship......im talking no down years and teams that have a legit shot at it every single year....where I believe that as a team your goal should be a title every year there is no team except for one that was a legit contender the last four years....and that team didn't even win their conference in 2011...

Actually, I don't completely disagree with this. If you were to say that unless you are willing or able to put the resources and effort in to trying to build a team that is good enough to compete for a BCS championship then your team should not be in division 1. I think this would only leave about 20 to 40 teams in division 1.
And then I would require division 1 schools to only play division 1 schools.

hate to inform some of you buty Oregon would have beaten Bama last year. And i think if the teams meet this year, Oregon will win. Weve seen Ole Nicky struggle two years in arow with A&M and Johnny Boy. Oregons offense is better.. way better.

For me, college football is entertainment.
