Who are our stud pitchers this year? Any good freshmen like Bregman last year?

Are our pitchers absolute studs or is our hitting going to be a concern this year? :inb4firejavi:

2 things:

1) Pitching is always ahead of hitting in the fall. The hitters aren't getting very many live reps compared to the spring, and it shows.

2) When Dunn is your pitching coach and Javi is your hitting coach...

Pitchers who will carry the load this year

Nola
McCune
Broussard
Glenn
Bouman
Poche
Person

Obviously not all the guys but the main ones I see as of now. Throw in Domangue too.

This class won't have anyone like what Bregman last year. A solid class nonetheless...

Fraley
Robertson
Zardon
DeHart
Dean

All guys with a great amount of potential and bloodline that will become mainstays in the lineup.

Of the five which see the field first? Probably Roberston, Fraley, or Zardon based on position battles.

Both are solid lists. Bugg looked good this weekend. He has an interesting delivery. Robertson is leading for 2nd and is the most likely freshman to start, IMO. Zardon is very close though.

Fraley may force the coaches to make tough decisions about the outfield. Stevenson is solidifying is spot in center. Laird's arm is his weakness but is a vacuum out there. McMullen needs to hit, but they would hate to use the DH spot on him if they don't have to.

This is true. But I also hope it means our pitching will be very good next year.

I would like to see a catching platoon with Moore catching when playing against right hand pitchers and Chinea starting against lefties. Either could DH, when not catching, as need be.

If you do the catching platoon, then you shouldn't need them for DH. I don't really agree with platooning the catcher position. Consistency is important for the pitchers, especially a young staff.

ETA: bbap, Just didn't see the point in the sarcasm.

I think Ron Lim has a lot of speed, Tim Clark can swing a big stick from the left side, and Keith Osik is such a great athlete he could play almost anywhere in the field.

If the Cune can step up as a solid middle relief guy, I'll be a happy panda.

He would be your long relief righty and Broussard (ETA: meant Bouman) your long relief lefty. We need a GD closer! Which freshman steps up?

I really wish I was more confident about the Catcher position.

What kind of injury did Broussard have that forced him to switch from a righty to pitching lefty?

That Dr. Andrews is really good.
