Bobby Valentine sucked donkey balls. Period. Has a coach every won a championship in year 1 (after a firing)?

As has already been pointed out, Farrell isn't even the first Red Sox manager to win it the year following another coach's firing. Grady Little fired after '03, Francona won it in '04.

Seifert is not legit. Walsh retired, he wasn't fired.
Gruden sort of I guess although that Tampa team was a consistent contender. It wasn't like they went from terrible to world champs in one year like Boston just did.
