Spiller's value going forward...

At this point, is CJ Spiller even worth a roster spot?
I've been holding on to him all season with the same mindset...this is the week he explodes and returns to form. I don't necessarily need to keep him on my roster because I have Charles, Gore and Murray right now. I just wanted to keep him in case one of my other three got injured.
I am currently winning my division with an 8-0 record; however, week 9 is bye heavy for my roster. I'm actually contemplating dropping Spiller so I can pick up the TE from Houston, solely because J.Thomas isn't playing this week. Am I being greedy to try and win this week or a hould I just concede week 9 and roll with my roster as is?

I probably wouldn't drop him for a bye week TE. But i don't think you should expect anything from him until after his bye week 12. He's a stash for playoff bound teams, which you are.

If you're 8-0, ride out the 0 from TE spot.
I know Spiller has sucked, but he may have value ROS over a spot TE that at best gives you 9-0 and at worst you go 8-1.

Another thing that I'm uncertain of is how the league will handle my lineup if I turn one in without a TE. I don't know if it will just show up as a TE short or if it will throw last weeks lineup in because the one without a TE isn't a legal roster.

I have Fred Jackson, but someone just dropped spiller. I can't help but think their roles will be reversed if they just let spiller heal considering Jackson has a knee one tackle away from ending his season.

That's another reason I've kept him this long...Jackson's health could catapult Spiller, once his own health is better.

I'm trying to buy him for Mike James right now... dunno if I'll be successful... (I actually traded him away for Trent a couple weeks ago and then he got repackaged in another deal)
