The Scheme to beat Bama

In my infinite, coffee-infused, commute wisdom I came up with a plan to beat the Tide. Its not very specific but hits the general ideas.
Mindset - Loose, have fun......anger and revenge tend to sap the energy reserves. As much as I hate Pete Carroll, the guy has instilled this in his teams and it works.
Attention to detail - don't let emotion cloud your responsibilities. Against an elite foe, the little things are critical. Saban is a master at this.
Study preps - go beyond what the coaches are sharing with you and become a student of the game. This goes for EVERYONE.....oline, skill positions, special teamers. Bama seems to have this down as well.
Coaching creativity - Les needs to channel Chris Peterson in his BSU days. Come up with some trickeration that can actually be successful and not outlandish shite. I know the defense cannot reinvent its philosophy, but Chavis could put on his Maverick hat and gamble a bit more on run stunts and disguised (and not so disguised) blitz packages. Hell, guess the play sometimes.
In the end, to earn big gains, you need to risk big losses. Trying to out-macho Bama is NOT going to work not matter home much you will it......they are more talented, disciplined, and stronger as a team.
The true Mad Hatter needs to show up. Les needs to eat as much grass as he wants.
I haven't given up on these Tigers.

Trickery is what cost us last year. We beat them man for man on the field. Fake FGs onside kicks, going for it on 4th down. We play that game straight up we likely win.
This year who knows we might need it

I honestly believe that the gimmick plays need to be left out of the game plan. lsu needs to possess the football an stay out of 3rd an long situations. contrary to popular belief lsu's offense is probably got saban worried because of the diversity an the playmakers on the team. the one thing that worries me is up front pressure on mettenburger, how will he handle it cause he has improved on handling edge pressure alot better.

pssshtt.... Hill will gain 80 yards on his first 8 carries and Miles will then sit him for 2 quarters.

That's not a scheme, it is a pep talk at best.
We have beaten Bama numerous times in their stadium over the past decade. We just need to play hard and get the ball to bounce our way once or twice.

To have any chance, we will have to gamble some on Defense. Can't beat them playing straight up. Will have to disrupt their running game and McCarron through stunts, blitzes, man coverage, and hope our DBs can hold their coverage. We haven't put together a complete effort on defense yet, but maybe with the extra week, it can happen. Big maybe.

The scheme is to put saline in their water bottles so that they shite themselves and give up

Since they are more talented, more experienced, more disciplined (penalties and turnovers), better prepared, and at home, the only hope is that Bama's younger players feel the pressure. We need them to commit penalties, and fumble. Going to be a good game. I hope our guys are in the right positions and don't break down defensively like at Ga.

Spread their defense out with formations and THEN run the ball.

Your lone upvote was from me
The win will be on them..........as well as the loss. Bama just has more talent IMO and at far more positions that we do and it will show.
Who knows though - The Mad Hatter isn't called that for nothin'

I agree with the play loose and have fun mentality. Boise State is a great example of a team who always seems to be having fun regardless of how big the game or opponent. And they are not afraid to take chances. Their game where they beat Oklahoma was a blueprint for being unafraid of the moment and playing to win at all costs.
Like someone mentioned, last year was not the time to be cute. LSU was dominating Bama heads up. This year is a different story. We have to go all in. Conservative will not be the way to beat Bama this year because of the defense. In the past our Defense has been as good as theirs and a conservative game plan relying on the defense was a decent strategy. This year we must rely on the offense and try to outscore them. Loose as a goose and a quick trigger finger is what we need.
