not that its any excuse for what we put on the field for the first half saturday night. But could this teams seemingly slow decline through the entire month of october be for play every single saturday since August 31? We are the only AQ team to have not had a bye yet. Not trying to be a sunshine pumper saying we are gonna be completely different after a bye and all our problem will be solved. But could some of our current sluggishness that wasn't present at all early in the season be attributed to be worn out from playing 9 consecutive weeks?

quote:

“Sometimes we wish (the open date) could have come a little earlier,” Beckham said. “You get beat down playing in the SEC. It takes a toll on your body.”

In a perfect world I woulda kept the one before Bama where it was, but move the one from before AM up to where Miss St was, then bump Miss to this past weekend, and play Furman the week in between Bama and AM.

*and yes I know moving the Miss St. game wasnt an option since it game straight from the SEC office.

Hanagriff said we have the latest first by week of any DI school. I think if we had one in late September/early October, we beat Ole Miss. As another poster said, we should have flipped the one before A&M.

What will suck is the years when there's only one bye and we have to save it for the week before our Thanksgiving Day game with A&M. Thanks SEC

If that's their excuse then they need to be conditioned better and do a better job recruiting depth. That simple.

When's the last time LSU had to play 9 straight weeks of football? Don't think it's an excuse as much as it is a fact.

And let me guess..... you've played college football and you know ALL about conditioning and how it feels to get the hell beat out of you week after week...... NO, didn't think so! What a ridiculous statement!

The last time LSU had a bye this late in the season was 1998.

That's funny. Graceful exit. Many here, could hopefully, learn from you.

Humility is a rare commodity here.

Kudos!

thanks

In all seriousness I think the players could have used some rest.... but we should have won at Ole Miss anyway.

These bye weeks give us a better shot to beat Bama and Texas A&M. If we can somehow win at Alabama then people are going to get excited all over again IMO.

Texas A&M has for sure a worse defense than us and Arky is terrible.
