Buying a bow

I have been on the fence for the last few months about buying a bow and just haven't been able to pull the trigger. So, I come to you guys to convince me to do it.
How addicting is it? Is the investment worth the lifelong thrill and adrenaline rush of chasing monster bucks? How long will it take me to be tree stand ready?
I just need a little kick in the arse to get me to do it.

Bow hunting is awesome, i'd rather buy guns but I have a bow and not huge bow hunter.
I guess it just varies person to person

Quit being a pussy and buy the damn bow.
But if you buy a x bow, don't bother ever posting here again.
I recommend bowtech or one of the new bear bows.

It depends. I enjoy it, but not so much that I will grab my bow instead of my rifle when the season is open. It drastically extends your deer season though. Killing a deer with a bow is about as exciting as it gets. I think everybody should at least try it.
Be prepared for much anger and frustration. Deer will frequently piss you off when you have a bow.

This x 1000
It's definitely a love/hate relationship. With that being said it's worth the time and money.

Do it!!! Do it meow!!
I love bow hunting more than rifle. Its something awesome, getting so close to a deer where everything you do will make or break your hunt

I feel like it's almost a necessity here in Kansas if you want to continually shoot big deer. Our rifle season is just to short. Found a good 2009 model on ArcherTalk, I will keep you guys posted.

Then definitely do it, now that I've used a bow exclusively the last few seasons I feel like I'm sinning if I even consider taking a rifle.

Bowhunting has definately made me want to kill them more than i already wanted to. Don't expect to get on the stand and be like the guys on tv in your first year.

PSE XL I believe, I'm on my phone, but I will double check. Gonna run by Cabela's today to try a few out as well. If anyone has a decent quality used bow, let me know. I'd rather pay for a quality used bow now then go cheap and have to do the whole process over again in the future.

Used is the way to go. You can get damn good bows for cheap.
Also, make sure you use rage broad heads.

That's the truth.
It's definitly a challenge, and fun as hell!
Killing my first with a bow, was enough to get me hooked. Can't wait to get a chance at a buck

very addicting. i started 2 years ago and love it.. i recommend spening no more than $4-450 on a bow. find a good used one rigged out or like i did bought a pse brute x for $250 and rigged it out myself. no more than $400 in it and i feel comfortable out to 40 yards with it.. as said bow hunting deer will piss you off lol but i like the challenge! I too wont take my bow over a gun yet, but am debating taking both some hunts just so i can shoot a deer if i get it close enough
