Yeah. I live in Thibodaux and I've never even heard about potential D1 prospects.

Also on Fox Sports Southwest.

I believe this will be the first time I will see either of these teams play. Can't recall seeing a game by either one.

#1 Richard.... ULL type guy.... He is a guy that runs great routes, great hands, just doesn't have the 4.3-4.4 speed. This kid can flat out play!!

#4 Johnson.... A man amonst boys, but doest have the 4.4 speed. If he did he would be getting recruited by EVERYONE. You guys will see what im talking about.....

I bet the LHSAA has a big say in it.

quote:

"Premier high school football on Thursday nights"

The New Orleans Saints / LHSAA Game of the Week is a weekly live television broadcast of a pre-selected LHSAA football game. Historical rivalries and cross town matchups are what makes the game of the week so special. The schedule is made up of 10 regular season games followed by 4 playoff games leading up to the state championships in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The games will feature small and large schools from all classifications and divisions while covering all geographic regions of Louisiana, thus maximizing television exposure. This fall most of the "Game of the Week" games will be featured on Thursday night. This will allow high school football fans who attend games on Friday to watch the selected “key matchup” on Fox Sports New Orleans. With the New Orleans Saints as the title sponsor, and their game day experience traveling to communities all across Louisiana, the Game of the Week is a great opportunity for a new corporate partnership.

Would think the same thing when I would see Chalmette games on CST. Atleast both these teams will be playoff teams.

They picked this game before the season started. I imagine there weren't to many teams wanting to move their game to Halloween night.

Since I don't live in LA, I was wondering if this is a down year for Thibodaux? I have been so used to reading each year about at least one D-1 recruit from there. And does S. Lafourche have anyone, even a junior who projects as a major college recruit?

This may still make better television viewing than this low-scoring, pitching dominated World Series, if game #7 is even necessary that night.

This certainly isn't Thibodaux's most talented team but it's pretty much par for what they've put on the field for the past 10-15 years. Minus the few years when they put out Trovon Reed, Greg Robinson, and Trey Granier back to back to back. Coaching has definitely taken a step back however since their last coach Lorio left.

This is going to be a good game between solid teams that don't like each other. Especially with all that's going on with the South Lafourche/Destrehan spying situation.

As far as best players...

South Lafourche

- #79 Bailey Granier 6'7 315 Senior - OT - Committed to Vanderbilt

- #7 Peyton Guidry 6'1 205 Senior - LB - Interest from state schools La Tech, ULL, etc but he's a smart kid with IVY league schools looking at him.

- #23 Jake Williams 6'0 190 Senior - RB - Injured most of the year just came back a couple games ago and already has 500 yds rushing.

- #46 Dominic Fillinich 6'0 150 Junior - QB - Fun player to watch runs around makes alot of plays, but is on the smaller side.

Thibodaux

- #4 Donta Johnson - 5'9 190 Senior - RB/QB - Really good was 5A All-State last year, just not the fastest guy. HE IS THE ENTIRE THIBODAUX OFFENSE.

- #42 Victor Bimah - 6'3 210 Senior - OLB/DE

- #1 Jason Richard - 6'0 180 Senior - WR - Don't throw much but when they do he's the target.

Johnson, Bimah, Richard, Williams, and Fillinich are all Nicholls/Northwestern/Southeastern type guys.

tv is tv... when most kids get only one tv game and that's if they're lucky, and they tape it to show their kids 20 years from now

SL is asking fans to wear pink. So be ready to see a ton of that.

Expect the stadium to be packed as they are for all SL games.

I am sure they're have been worser games shown.

SL owns Lafourche hahaha

Gameday bump

Lots of buzz around SL right now with the whole cheating scandal. Weather may get sketchy too.

Been wondering if they'll have the sideline reporter ask someone from SL or the LHSAA about it before the game. She may have to ask one of the NOLA.com writers about it if the LHSAA tells everyone else not to talk about it. I bet the announcers talk a little about it when they show the SL coach.

clhstrojans,

Thanks for all of the info on these two teams' prospects. I added the profiles I was able to find to the OP.

Richard scores to give Thibodaux a 6-0 lead. Two point try failed.
