Getting excited about the upcoming Basketball season

I know this is slightly premature, but I am getting excited about the upcoming season for my little brother and the new look tigers. I feel like for the first time since he's been here this is the first yr they have the overall talent and depth to compete and actually have a legit shot at making the tournament... just excited to see how things play out.

yes we played against eachother back in AAU Days, he played for the Atlanta Celtics and I played for Team Georgia

Not premature at all, Nov. 12 first tipoff I believe.
It will be interesting to see how the talent mixes together an to see how good some of these new kids really are.
Also intrigued to see Quarterman. Alot written that he'll play alot of point. Should be interesting to see the dynamic with he and Hickey.
I think Mickey will be the most ready of the newbies to contribute the most the earliest.

Yea I talked to Dre about houston he told me he had 16pts with 3 or 4 threes, He told me that JOB was dominating got alot of Good looks off him passing out of double teams, he also said Quarterman Looked good.

Dre always starts hot and kinda tapers off. Maybe for his senior year he can deal it all year long.

The one thing JOB really improved last year was passing out of the double. He went from a black hole the first year and a half to fairly proficient at it.
Now I'll be interested to see if he has improved his footwork so that he can cut down on the travels. He was good for at least a couple a game last year, and could've been more they just didn't always call him on it.
He's already in easilty the best shape since he's been here. I think he'll show the pedigree this year.

Just read Jeff Goodman's article on LSU's recruiting. For whatever reason he thinks Quarterman is gonna start this year but he also thought Hickey was a senior.

Yep, actually caring about the basketball team again is a strange feeling. haha Looking forward to it.
I sure hope JOB has improved again. Two seasons ago people talked about him being good but I just didn't see it. Last year he started to show it a bit. If he has improved LSU BB could be really fun. should have more solid team from top to bottom.

Will there be anything in the paper tomorrow about the scrimmage?
It would interesting to know more about how some of the young players did ... as well as Coleman, Morgan and Hickey.

I have gotten that impression from multiple sources. Not sure what that means for Hickey. I don't think the 2 is a good spot for him, but he can still contribute from there on the break and on the press which by all accounts we'll do alot of.

johnny will do big things if he stays healthy. he had all those double doubles last season on one leg most of the time.

He's shown flashes both years, but not quite as consistently as I'd have hoped. I think his conditioning has been a big part of that, as well as his shot selection.
He's just not a perimiter shooter but he wants to be. If he can control that urge I think we're gonna see consistent and efficient production from him and with the help coming, good things for the team.

Interesting. That bodes well for Quarterman but I hope Hickey doesn't backslide again if he loses his spot.
