All the talk about Avoyelles parish in the dead bear thread got me thinking about this. What is the most backwoods parish you have ever been to? What is the most outlaw type town you have ever been to?

The most backwoods parish I have spent much time in is definitely Webster parish. Hell, the whole damn parish all goes to the same schools now instead of each town having their own schools!

The most outlaw type mentality place I have ever been to in Louisiana would have to be Pitkin.

How about yall?

Ive been to some dicey locations over the years in NWLA.

Webster (Ringgold), Coushatta, Converse, Pleasant Hill, etc.

A lot of the small towns around here have that "outlaw" and "go back where you came from" feel.

Do these places really exist, these "outlaw" towns? I'm sceptical because I hear people talk about how "bad" Chalmette is, and I grew up there.

Just speaking about where I'm from, Bedico, outside Madisonville city limits, and up Lee Rd fit the bill when I was younger. Now they are more developed so it isn't as much fun

I have had a gun pointed at my head in each of those areas

Eta: on the west side of I-55 along the LA/MS border has some neat places to visit. Go to the bars anywhere and you'll find out about the people

I can vouch for and confirm this from my college days at LSU.

Point conceded.

Need to hear more stories as evidence for whichever towns y'all post.

The lovely little sleepy village of Sun would also fit the bill.

Guy from Pitkin lived with a buddy of mine for a little while when I was in college. He said when he goes back home they go to the little run down bar in Pitkin, get drunk, and wait until a little after midnight when almost every night a group of 5-6 guys would go outside and smoke meth. When the meth heads come back in they start trying to fight everybody, so my buddy and his friends would get drunk and try to beat the meth heads in an all out brawl! But he said they always lost because you just can't stop a meth head

In high school the Pitkin basketball team would come to our team camp in the summer. They had a few guys who would play with a dip in and swallow their spit. They also always had a really hard time learning to play with the blacks, because to this day no black people live in Pitkin and most of the people there are extremely racist, and they hate outsiders almost as much as they hate blacks.

I bet all but one person in these two stories combined had the last name "Johnson".

What makes you say this? I know Raccourci is W.Fel, thats why I was there investigating. These outlaws.......

My bad, you got me. I had Avoyelles confused with Concordia because my informant heard them bragging at a bar in Avoyelles. Thats where I got mixed up
