No but I'm intrigued by that design.

They are just little pieces of plastic and are very cheap feeling (obviously because they are cheap.)

They are similar in design to some other conceal carry options that have been around for years.

I would personally much rather something a little more robust

Kinda hard to find something to conceal a full size .45, and thought this might be an option.

I saw them at Academy tonight, almost picked one up, bought a box of ammo instead. I think I may get one next time I'm there, only $25...would be worth a try I guess.

Oh, and I don't mean any offense to anyone, but if you haven't tried it or at least know someone who has one, please don't tell me what a shittie idea it is. If you have tried it and it sucks, please let me know. Of course, if you've tried it and it's great, lemme know that too.

This is true and would not try to conceal one which is why I don't like them

For what I would use a cc holster for there are more appealing options IMO

And I have tried them many times. Used to sell the things

I actually carry my XDS in my pocket more than anything now. But sometimes that's hard to do with shallow pockets. The IWB holster I have now adds a little too much bulk. If I just stick the gun in my belt at 4 o'clock it's much better.

I think the versa carry would almost be the same as no holster which is what is appealing to me.

The problem I see with the Versa carry is that SO much of the gun is pressed directly into your body. The stippling from the grips and the serrations on the slide will chew through your skin like a dog through a raw hide.

If you're trying to conceal something super thin like an LCP it might be viable. But for something big like a 1911, you'd be much better off with a leather hide holster like my White Hat. It doesn't look comfortable and slim but I can guarantee it is both. There's a reason it costs what it does.

I agree with bapple - especially if you plan on wearing it for several hours and stand/sit/walk. I frequently use the same rig as bapple posted and it distributes very nicely for the most comfort.

I converted my versa into an inside the waistband knife carry for a fixed blade karambit.

Protect your trigger and trigger guard to prevent Plaxico Burress-ing.

I agree. I don't like the fact that the trigger is exposed on your belly side. It is so easy for your shirt or anything else to catch on the trigger and end up with you putting a hole in your gut or thigh. I would not use one of those.

Maybe someone else can chime in on this, but what really concerns me is the barrel plug. You have to admit that whenever you carry a gun without completely covering the trigger guard, your chances for a negligent discharge increase. My question is, what would actually be worse: getting shot in the leg, or a steel-framed gun exploding while it is pressed against your leg?

I'm not sure if the barrel gets plugged enough to create a gas seal.

But in any event, I think I would prefer the gun contain some of the blast. Taking a 230gr hollow point in the thigh is pretty life threatening.
