Sebelius: Obama did not know about Obamacare website glitches

quote:

GUPTA: The president did say that he was angry about this. I mean, do you know when he first knew that there was a problem? SEBELIUS: Well, I think it became clear fairly early on, the first couple of days GUPTA: So not before that though? SEBELIUS: No. GUPTA: Not before October 1st? There was no concern at the White House or HHS?

quote:

SEBELIUS: I think that we talked about having testing going forward, and if we had an ideal situation and could have built a product and, you know, a five-year period of time, we probably would have taken five years but we didn't have five years. And certainly, Americans who rely on health coverage didn't have five years for us to wait. We wanted to make sure we made good on this final implementation of the law. And again, people can sign up. The call center is open for business. We've had 1,100,000 calls. We've had 19 million people visit the website. Five-hundred thousand accounts created and people shopping every day. So, people are signing up and there's help in neighborhoods around the country that people can have a one-on-one visit with a trained navigator and figure out how to sign up. So people are able to sign up.

First you would have to define "glitch" before he could answer.

Didn't know, or, didn't care?

I wonder why no one told obama about the issues when he shut down the govt to get it rolled out? You'd think someone would have told him to go ahead and extend the enrollement period to prevent the shut down since he was only fighting for something that would end up being a failure.

If they knew what a frick up it was going to be, why not delay the roll out? They would have taken a hit for it, but surely nothing like this. They're either massively stupid, or they didn't anticipate just how significant the glitches were IMO.

Okay, that is funny. It amazes me how little Obama apparently knows about his administration.

And before someone says, "Obama can't micro-manage everything," this was his signature legislation. This just shows how much of an empty suit he really is.

This is the MO. Obama fricks up, and then claims he didn't know anything.

I don't know what is worse, a frick up, or an incompetent fool who is a habitual liar.

I can't imagine everyone being on board with rolling this thing out if they actually knew how fricked up it was. If you know there are hardcore glitches, delay enrollment.

If I was rolling out a program that my party had been fighting for for 50+ years and it was unofficially referred to as upgrayeddcare, you can be goddamn sure I would want to know every large problem that was happening.

He almost reminds me of Deedy Slaughter. He enjoys the title and power of the office, but doesn't concern himself with actually making decisions. Let me sit in driver's seat but let someone else do the driving.

re: Sebelius: Obama did not know about Obamacare website glitches
it cracks me up thinking about them implementing the site and getting ready for the rollout

you know probably about a year ago they were thinking "man, we are really going to have to rush to get this out the door on time and working properly"

then six months out "holy crap, this is going to be tight...this might not get done in time"

then a month before "there's no way this will be done, we're so screwed if this date doesn't get pushed back"

then a week before "frick, they are really still going through with this?"

problems of this magnitude in a website's architecture don't just "pop up"...they knew a long time ago the site wouldn't be functioning but still released it anyway...

Bottom line: we have a man who very likely couldn't pass a Project Management class sitting in the most powerful position on the planet.

We are soooo fricked.

They don't care. In their eyes, this, too, shall pass. Everyday they push forward and deal with the bumps/pot holes in the road, the closer they get to a single-payer system. End game.
