Scott: Coach Miles feels strongly about benching a player once he fumbles, and we saw that Saturday with Jeremy Hill. How significant do you see that decision in the outcome of the game?

Mike: It was a ridiculous decision. Hill is not a fumbler. Could you imagine Mark Richt sitting Todd Gurley if he fumbled once. It doesn't make any sense. In this game Jeremy Hill should have rushed the ball 30 to 32 times against a Rebel defense with no depth and six starters out. If there is an issue with Hill and Frank Wilson and Miles, I don’t know, but a coach to hired to win games and Jeremy Hill is the 2nd best running back in the SEC behind Gurley and LSU’s offensive line is a huge plus this year. It doesn't matter if it's the first carry or the tenth carry, a running back will fumble the ball at times, but you can't punish the entire team for one mistake and again Jeremy Hill has no history of fumbling the ball. Run him hard in this game and then rest him against Furman. I don't get it, and I don’t buy the explanation or what was said afterwards. There is something else behind the scenes with this pull of a star player.

I wonder if they knew at the time Hootie pushed his announcement back until after he visits us for the A&M game?
