North Louisiana has never been solid for LSU....

There is a post on the board which contends that LSU "recaptured" North Louisiana along with N.O. and this is why LSU has reemerged as a Football Power. Well, in reality LSU has always gotten "it's share" of players from North Louisiana but LSU has always had competition in North Louisiana and has lost quite a few over the years. Go back as far as John David Crowe who went to A&M. Go back to Joe Ferguson who went to Arkansas.
*West Monroe LB Ledoux went to Texas A&M.
*West Monroe LB Adam McConathy went to Texas.
*West Monroe WR Ambrose went to Ole Miss.
*Evangel S Phillip Geiger went to Texas.
*Evangel QB Brock Berlin went to Miami.
*Neville QB Lane went to Ole Miss.
*Ruston RB Roymon Malcolm went to Auburn.
*Neville QB Bubby Brister went to Tulane.
*Evangel DL Cole Pittman went to Texas.
*Haughton QB Dak Prescott went to Miss. State.
*Bastrop QB Randall Mackey went to Ole Miss.
This is just some who readily come to mind. I am sure there are many more. Over the years, North Louisiana has never been a "lock" for LSU. It still isn't.

And was a member of the 2003 LSU Championship team. He went to A&M with 2 of his best friends in Slocum-Basketball, and West. West was then drafted out of high school. West and Ledoux went to LSU for the ring.

Was committed to LSU. Chose Ole Miss after Saban lied and signed both Matt Flynn and Jamarcus Russell the same year.

The list of S. La guys who went out of state would be fairly sizable.

I hate to tell you guys but all of those listed had LSU offers and many were highly thought of at the time and there were many from North Louisiana who never amounted to much after they got to LSU either. The point being that LSU never recaptured North Louisiana or even had to and LSU resurgence has little to do with recruiting North Louisiana.
In addition, the point is made that most on the list never amounted to anything. This is exactly the same possibility that exists for Cameron Robinson and Cameron Simms(who LSU did not offer). Regarding Hootie, I have seen him play and think that he will probably have to move to LB in the SEC wherever he goes. I personally think he is overrated and wouldn't even be the best Safety in this year's LSU class as Battle is far more the prototypical Safety type and would beat out Hootie to start with. That's my opinion and y'all can have at it.

Brock Berlin initially signed with Florida and then transferred to Miami. Randal mackey never got offered by Les. He definitely wanted to go to LSU however.

Cool, completely disagree about Jones. Whether he plays S or LB he will be an all sec player regardless of school. Btw I accidentally upvoted you.

U can say and make a list about New Orleans as well.

John David Crow came to LSU and was taken from his Dorm by Paul William Bryant to A&M. Joe Ferguson wasn't going to
compete with Butch Duhe and Bert Jones...
While making these lists, it's important to realize who LSU had or got instead. A South LA list would be the one that shows greater losses of guys we wanted.
