Glad he sounded convinced that he is 100% physically. That's good . . . put Ol' Miss behind him, light up Furman, take a little R&R and gear up for what would be THE upset of the season.

Bring it P&G!

Mett forced those passes because he has been able to get away with it all year. Both Beckham and Landry have made some incredible catches with db's draped all over them. Problem was they were fly patterns and the passes were too long on two of them at least making it impossible for ODB to get up and make a catch or a defensive play.

Can't believe somebody else finally thinks like I do. Mett's pocket awareness looked particularly better before UGA but he hasn't really changed at all from last year. The offensive line for the most part gives him all day and now he under throws most deep balls instead of them sailing 5 yards over.

Also both both Beckham and Landry have improved their game. It's like Manziel with Evans, just throw it up. Landry would be the better guy to force a ball to because of his body control, physicality, and hands of velcro. Beckham will turn something small into a big gain while Landry will snatch every ball for you even in double and triple coverage. You would think that he had learned the differences of his WRs and I thought he had em down pegged til he kept trying to force i to OBjr.

When you are good and you know you are good and all stats show you are one of the best, you take the damn kick off out of the end zone. You must have never played a snap!

did he say anything about his ego ?
..and wanting to just hit HOME RUNS so that his name goes into the Heisman race...

he may learn something from this, but there is not doubt in my mind that his ego played a large part..

Agree OB is a glory hound. Also,
I still don't understand returning kickoffs 6 or 7 yards deep in the end zone

Beckham returns kicks caught deep in the end zone becuase each yard he makes adds to his total yards and yards per game. In case you havn't noticed, Beckham is leading SEC in total yards. As you said before, Beckham is a glory hound and does not care what hole he will put the offense in as long as he can add to his stats.

Wonder if there is any underlying meaning behind referencing wr's needing to run their routes...noticed him having an intense converssation with Beckham after one int in particular...
To be fair that was after a reporter told him that OBJ told the reporters that the 3 interceptions in a game were a first for Mett. I am guessing that he didn't appreciate OBJ talking about his INT's. Now if they aren't exactly best of buds too...

Later he seems to wonder how the reporters would "pick up" on his right foot bothering him.

Seriously? I'm sure he'll be a 'glory hound' all the way to the bank too! As it should be!!

The problem isnt the offense.....

And (by the way) it's not about beating Alabama necessarily but about treating every game like it REALLY counts and beating whos on the other side of the ball. Our guys don't play like that. Sure against Alabama we might but no against the Ol Miss' s of the league....

I have absolutely no problem with OBJ bring the ball out of the end zone every time. He's always going to get it to the 20 yd line, and many times the 30 or better. And every opportunity that he gets is a chance to catch lightening in a bottle and take it to the house. As long as it's not hurting us, (and as far as I know it hasn't hurt us yet) I say keep on keeping on.

I don't see OBJ as a show boat at all. He gives everything he has. I'll take someone who is trying to make play any day.
