For 5 years all you've read on the rant is "Les is way to conservative on offense!!!! We will never win anything with such a vanilla gameplan!!!!! Les has got to go!!!!!!"
Since Saturday it's been "Why the frick was Les letting Mett throw the ball so much?!?!?!?! Why weren't we lining up and running the ball down their throats?!?!?!?! We will never win with such obvious playcalling!!!!!! Les has got to go!!!!!!!!!!"
So which is it people? Is he too conservative or too aggressive and crazy? At what point does the play calling from Saturday fall on Cam Cameron's shoulders? He has gotten 100% of the credit for the offensive turnaround, but 0% of the blame for the poor performance of the past 2 games.
A perfect example is the 3rd and 5 play after the muffed punt. LSU went 5 wide and people are blaming Les (shocker, I know), but I ask you this. Can you name ONE other time in the last 5 years that LSU has gone 5 wide on any 3rd down that was less than 10 yards?
There are several things that we can put on Miles (The obvious lack of motivation shown by the players is my main concern), but laying the blame solely on Miles is completely ridiculous.

People are livid pissed we lost to Ole Miss' second string and are looking for answers.
What do you expect on here after losing a game like that?

I would rather discuss his clock management. Maybe if all of us could agree on one thing...that he is terrible with managing time outs and the clock it would start the healing process.

This.
When Ole Miss takes their beef out and whips you with it, it's time to demand answers.

For what, he didn't throw those 3 int's. It wasn't the play calling that was bad, it was the performance that was shitty!!! Quit blaming the coaches for things beyond their control. Mett making 3 bad reads and throwing into coverage were on Mett not the coaches. Like Miles stated Mett should have thrown to the check down in all 3 cases, he didn't make the right read he threw to the wrong receiver that is Mett poor decision making, not the coaches for calling the play!!! They don't know what the defense is going to run prior to the play being called that is why you have check downs in every play!!!

THIS IS THE RANT:
WE win it is because of our vastly superior talent and any idiot would have that because we are LSU.
WE lose and it is all the coaches fault.

the $4 MM gets the blame...
he is in charge
He said at halftime, that we needed "to take what they give us" .. really..you have to wait until Halftime to correct it ..you are the Boss, you sit players down for less, TOO AFRAID TO SPEAK UP AGAINST COACHES ?
It is his job....end of story.

Good post. I agree. Hence the proverbial "Miles has lost control of (fill in the blank)".

Maybe, just maybe, there is a difference between being way too conservative on offense, and throwing the ball up for grabs.
Maybe its that we're not able to coach a competent passing attack. To teach a QB to be able to read triple coverage and not throw into it. Or to take advantage of the opponent double covering two of our WR and opening up a ton of space for the other WR/TE/RB.
And FTR - throwing deep a few times a game has nothing to do with if we're running a conservative offense or not. You can throw it deep a few times and still be way too conservative. Not saying thats what we did the other night, I just hate that posters don't understand what being conservative on offense really means.

There is a strong hint as to why I called out Cameron and it was the word "playcalling," or does Mett call the plays too?

thanks man, it's hard work but its worth it.
seriously though, if you haven't figured out people love to bitch about everything i don't know what to tell you.
we could've won a NC this year and people would bitch that les has less than saban. it's just the way it works here.

I don't know what posters on the Rant were like before Saban was hired. Did the catastrophe syndrome he referred to exist before he became coach?

The last 2 games have felt like the old les miles offense. No creativity or anything. The Florida game was a great gameplan obviously but when we seen what Mizzou put up on Florida D then is doesn't seem so smart
