Why does the NFL not schedule 1:30 games (12:30 CST)?

We're all really interested in watching 8 halftime shows at the same time!

They do it with 4 pm (3 pm) games. Why not 1?

The better question is why do they front-load the early games so heavily?

There's always about 7-10 early games and only 2-4 late games, it makes no sense.

No reason to not have SD @ Jacksonville be a 3PM start for the benefit of the San Diego/Los Angeles market. Only diehard Chargers fans are going to wake up at 9AM to get ready for that game. Sucks for bar owners out there. Would make a killing if it were a late game. Should also make a huge (market-size) game like Chicago @ Washington be a 3PM start.

NFL double headers, breh. CBS and Fox don't want half the country missing the first quarter of the 4 pm game because the first game is still ongoing.
