I realize its rather become common knowledge that Sproles is a superior weapon to Bush, but I'm not entirely sure I agree. With Reggie you always had that stigma of being a high draft pick, and I think that was held against him unfairly. Sproles had the advantage of stepping in seamlessly, and therefore he was more appreciated from day 1.

With all things being equal I'd rather have Reggie - anyone out there agree? I like Hummingbird legs Darren but like Reggie more.

I don't understand - they're very similar players. I bet you most Lions and all Dolphins fans would pick Reggie.

when Bush left he got 5 million from the Dolphins, we picked up Sproles for less than 2 million, similar players with far different costs.

Reggie Bush was more versatile, and and more pron to break the big play I think, but Sproles is more consistent

Which is why this thread is dumb...Getting Sproles was the best move the Saints organization did since signing Brees!

I think it's about a push tbh. Sproles came at a lower price point so he was the more attractive option at the time. Reggie is a fine player though.

I don't agree with all the Reggie Bush hate. He did a good job when he was there. People are always complaining about the money he made. Well, he deserved it comin out of USC as a top pick. Besides, he made plays and backed it up I would say( Unlike Brooks, Grant, Smith, Harper, even Vilma and so on)). Was single handidly responsible for winning games for the Saints. No RB is gonna be used a lot in Payton's system. Sproles was an adequate replacement for Bush. The lil man works his butt off. But Bush was more explosive. Capable of turning an ordinary play into a long TD.

Reggie was a teeny bit more fun to watch than Sproles and IMO he's right there in the discussion for being as good as Sproles. That was my only point. I get that we had to move on due to salary cap, etc. But all things being equal I had more fun and enjoyment from having Reggie Bush on our team than Darren Sproles.

I just wish we would have given Reggie the opportunity to bulk up and be an every down back like he is now.

I enjoy watching Sproles too. He is a lil juggernaut, but you're right Bush was more fun to watch because he was a big play waiting to happen.

He was never gonna be an every down back in Payton's system.

Sproles runs harder than reggie, period.

Reggie may, MAY be more elusive in open space.

Reggie will constantly look for the home-run. Sproles keeps the offense on schedule.

Sproles is more durable than Reggie.

I prefer Sproles, even if they cost the same. Not hating on Reggie, I like him. I just prefer Sproles.

I think a better question is whether anybody prefers Tangerine over Alejandro as annoying troll who creates alters.
