Traditional numbering, tournament numbering, whatever you want to call it, I kind of dig it. I think it would be cool to see this used, but it's also never going to happen. Choosing your own number is too much of a brand now that I doubt anyone besides maybe a national team, just because that's a little different, would ever do this. Also the different formations employed today would messy up the 'traditional' aspect of it, as tactics vary from team to team.

I'm sure it's been discussed here before, but I don't remember seeing it, plus I'm bored.

Burritos and water.

I think it's awesome for high school and college, for sure.

Whenever I'm playing Manager Mode in FIFA and I take control of a national team, I renumber everyone like this. I think it's awesome, just extremely hard to do with clubs.

No snack for me. We ate at some Tex Mex place on the way back from Birmingham today. Good food, but I'm still stuffed from the burrito I had.

Pretty cool. And I just covered Auburn... the women's team (going to be a much, much better team anyways and Coach Flo is a great interview) mostly because we had two guys up there for the event.

But I sat in on a few men's team interviews before and after I got done writing my story ...Andy Kennedy, Johnny Jones and Calipari. The media rush around anything UK basketball is pretty intense. Also touched the SEC championship trophy and tripped Frank Haith accidentally.

All in all, an awesome way to miss class for a day. Mike Slive almost photobombed (I guess that term works here) a video we were doing. *CSB*

Now back to the real world tomorrow and two midterms.

I like him...very good coach, looks like he has LSU destined for some big things in the next few years.

Notice, some of you here on this board, and tv analysts as well still use terms like "traditional number ten" or "true number nine" in describing a player or his role.

I remember it still being used in F.A. Cup play into the mid 1990s, perhaps even later. And, with that usage, names were removed from the shirts, as well.
