Figured I would get the OB's opinion before I pull the trigger on this, since I know ya'll will not steer me wrong.

I want a duck hunting/bass-breams fishing with the kiddos/pull kiddos in the inner-tube or kneeboard with the SO boat. About narrowed it down to an Xpress and a War Eagle. Leaning toward the XPress Explorer XP200 although I like the War Eagle as well. Debating on motor size though between the 115 and 150.

Duck hunting will be on the river when it gets up. Probably will put an Avery on it. Fishing will be wherever the fish are biting in NorfEast LA. My main concern is pulling my 200+ pound kid around tubing and such with my wife and 5 yo daughter on board. Don't know if going to a 150 is justified?

I'm looking at an Xpress now too. I've fished out of them before. They're very solid boats. You can beat the hell out of them.

I've got no experience with war eagle but as a bama fan isn't it a sin for you to be associated with something of that name?

It's crossed my mind. Can always camo over the name though. Bummed my bros War Eagle for the 4th and puttered around on the Ouachita all day and liked the ride.

both are nice boats. Alx and I can attest to the fact that you can hit a bridge piling with an Express at 15-20 kts when your go-devil hits a stump and you are sliding out of control on the way to White Lake, with minimal damage to the boat, more to the ribs when you hit the leaning post.

Have an Xpress H51 bass rig...think its a 2003 model has been a great boat. Fished rivers to the bay to big water like Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn.

Have no experence with a War Eagle.

This is my boat. Probably more bass boat than what OP is looking for but it's for sale.

I have a War Eagle and I like the boat. I have ridden in the Express and like it as well.

I would shop for the best deal.

War Eagle might get the nod on durability of their paint system also.

Is that a 115 Yami? Do you use it strictly for fishing? I am leaning towards one with the same type of design. It's a 20' with a 67" bottom/26" sides. One of the key factors in getting this boat is being able to use it with the family pulling my kids on a tube or maybe a kneeboard. Torn on the 115 vs the 150 on this.

IMO I would go with the 150 over the 115 . It's better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it . Plus your resale value will be better with the 150 . And the the difference in fuel mileage is almost non existent between the two . Just my two cents tho

Yea I have the 115 4 stroke on a 17'. I think you have to have 18'+ for the 150. My 115 has been great and plenty powerful. My dad has the 150 2 stroke on a 20' bay boat and has already had to put it in the shop. ( Replace plugs and shite due to what they called bad gas)

I went with the motor upgrade thinking Id use it to pull kids on tubes and shite but in 3 years all ive ever pulled were other broke down boaters

By all means keep the boat. I've broken down a couple of times and need to keep as many tow boats on the water as possible.

I'm not sure if that will be an option for me not pulling the kiddos. Our place is on the river and it is just too easy to hop in the boat and run between the house and a sandbar. When we went out on the 4th, I forgot how much fun it was to pile in the boat, tube, and then go hangout at the sandbar. Primary reason I am getting the boat to be honest.

i'd honestly think a 115 would be fine. we have a 115 on a 16' whaler and it pulls adult wakeboarders/tubers fine

You should post the pic.

BTW, no way in hell I own a War Eagle boat. It's bad enough that I like one of their spinnerbaits.

Yes but I am a little tight on available cash. Would you take a trade for a 13 foot 1971 Boston Whaler with a 1986 Yamaha 50?
