Lamb in Baton Rouge?

I have to write a report on lamb carcass evaluation for my Animal Science class and we have to find the retail price/lb of lamb in Baton Rouge. Anyone know where I can find some? I was thinking Calvin's or Hi- Neighbor would have some but I don't want to drive all over town today looking for it.

I bought lamb chops in Vicksburg Ms yesterday for 13.99/lb. Not sure if that helps though...

You can go to Maxwells. They will at least have a price quote. But they should have various cuts of lamb in stock.

Thanks, but I need the price for eight different cuts (rib chops, loin, chops, shank, leg slices, etc) of lamb all from the same store

They should be able to quote you on most of this. Just ask the manager, he'll point you in the right direction. Go when they aren't busy. I'd try the one on perkins next to pennington biomedical center

True. But you aren't going to find all of those cuts. You might find three. Like he said, go when it is slow and have them give you quotes.

Saw it at Calandro's, Fresh Market and Alexander's, all in the past 24 hours. All pretty close to LSU.

I doubt anyplace will have all 8 cuts out. Any of the three I named have good butchers that would likely be glad to help him out when he explains what he's trying to do.
