Olde Tymes grocery and it's not even close.

Shrimp, meatball, olde tyme special, or sausage and you will be happy. My friends who eat oysters love the oyster poboy to.

Hop off at University and it's probably 3 miles down the road. Not far IMO.

If you're not on a tight schedule, Olde Tyme would be the correct answer. It's not because the
place is overly slow, but it's not exactly a quick easy on/off option from I-10. You're looking at up to 45 minutes to and from the interstate including wait time as well. I would highly recommend Olde Tyme, but remember to bring cash currency because they don't take credit cards. That's probably what makes them "Olde". Get the shrimp poboy ftw, and afterwards legitimately argue that it's one of the tops in the universe.

When in that area, my lunch money is split between Olde Tyme, Taco Sisters for perhaps the best fish tacos I've ever had, and Cedar Grocery for Mediterranean (also credit card and Sunday sensitive).
