Yeah, I noticed it too. The graphics showed 2 timeouts, then we ran a play. Then the Pats called timeout, and they still ended up with 2 timeouts left. Either the gfx department screwed up, or someone wasn't counting.

No they weren't. A fox graphic incorrectly showed they had 2 timeouts when they still had 3.

The screen showed they had two timeouts left after they failed on fourth down. After that they called three more timeouts
That's the proof?

Go back to the pass to Hoowoooaouwouuuuuni that he "caught" even though it hit the ground.

Fox took a to away right there and thePatriots immediately lined up and ran a play.

I can't figure out how the clock dpost run out after 5 plays at 45 seconds a play just seems like they should not have as much time as they did.

Someone needs to post the final 4 minutes of the game in transcript form

Unless fox screwed up then they were awarded a extra timeout.

Thought I was the only one that noticed this, they had 3, called a timeout, and still had 3

I was just researching this.. I think they did frick up.. They had that play where the saints called TO BUT NE called TO first. The Fox ticker added the TO back to the Saints and took it off for NE. I just couldn't remember if this was the first half or not.

Their first timeout should have been on our first drive in the 3rd quarter. We were initially charged with the timeout and the ref came back and said NE had called timeout first. Anyone have DVR capability to look at this? It was after Ben Watson's long catch down to the 12.

Yep that is when NE was charged a TO according to the Fox ticker.

Unless they called an injury timeout for Jimmy Graham after the first run following that fourth down play, then they were given an extra timeout.

Saints run the ball on first down and the clock stopped at 2:36 until the next play. No idea why there was a stoppage there otherwise.

I remember that. I thought the Saints called a TO.

ETA: Someone who isn't hammered please review this for us.

Timeout #1 by NE at 02:36.
Timeout #3 by NO at 02:36.

Looks like the only extra time out I can find on box score is the one the Saints gave them by having an incomplete pass on 3rd down allowing them to use their last TO prior to the 2 min warning.

Even if they got 4, all the Saint's would get is a
"sorry we fricked you over" letter.

The TO that was given to the Saints and then changed to the Patriots happened in the FIRST quarter. The play before the TD pass to Cadet.

They did not get an extra time out. PERIOD. End of story.

I was wondering why, however, why Belichick was allowed to stand at the line of scrimmage at the 20 when the Patriots got the ball back after the Stills touchdown.
