The only really successful scrambler and passer I have seen for the same size of Manziel is Russell Wilson.

yeah wilson doesn't dance around the pocket, he runs when he has to. Manziel runs because he can.

Easy now, I'd love for tSaint's to draft him and let him sit and learn from Bree's for a year or two...
Brees will be playing at least 5 or 6 more years IMO

I'm sure Manziel will have the same elusiveness against NFL speed.

That'll change before the draft. He'll move up.

Manzel is not an NFL qb no way NFL teams have him rated highly

It'd be cool as frick if Bree's can play another 5 or 6 years for tSaint's at his current productive rate, but it's simply not likely imo.

Manziel's future in tNFL is entirely dependent on him becoming a pass-first guy obviously, he's just too small to think otherwise, but he's also the exact same size as Bree's so why not learn from the master how to survive and thrive in tNFL.

And keep in mind, Johnny Football won't prolly demand that much leverage relatively speaking, he'll prolly be available in late 2nd or early 3rd so the risk/reward is a positive investment.

JFF still hasn't show the ability to NOT throw a jump ball.

The guy just tosses it in the air and 6'5 Evans makes a play.

That's exactly the thought process that could make him available to tSaints's for cheap.

Why would the saints want him?? he isn't a very good passer.

Say's who?
Sure, he's known more for his running ability but ask Bama if his 500+ yards passing was a fluke.

He's maybe not NFL ready as a passer right this moment, but the skills are certainly there to be so.

I agree, that's why Mett moves up.
I wouldn't want Manziel.
Mett? Of course. Tall, can see over the line, etc.
I'd like to see him more mobile.

Johnny Football is ahead of "Melkenberger" (ESPN Chick's Name for Mett)? How can this be? How is JF's upside stronger than Mett's?

Did you watch the game??

Most of his yards required no passing skills. He would just scramble around a lot and throw to a wide open receiver or throw a jump ball to Mike Evans.

He doesn't make NFL throws like some of the other QB's mentioned.

I can't see him sitting in the pocket very long in the NFL either.

Kiper sucks at this so that bodes for Mett in the draft. What has Kiper ever been right about?

Kiper is usually right about things that are fairly obvious.
Like the sun setting, or the sun rise.

Of course I watched that game, and was very impressed with his competitiveness when he could have just given up hope.

Too many tangiables are taken into consideration nowadays in regards to potential for QB's. How many proto-type passers(ala JaMarcus?) have we seen fail at the next level?

It's the un-tangiables that make or break prospects, and I see Johnny Football as having plenty of those in regards to a possible future with tSaint's.

I would think some GMs are going to reflect on Mett's season and realize he was highly productive in the SEC, was coached by Cameron, and he played in more of an NFL style offense.

Cameron being the biggest factor.

Also why would Brees drop off? That makes no sense as he has no injury issues and other QBs continue to be productive such as Manning.
