With as much passion the state has for baseball and any sport really, you would think they would have one.

If the saints could survive being terrible for so long, then I know a baseball team could make it.

Wish yall had one. I would be a fan.

NOLA isn't big enough to support three pro teams... and there's no where else in the state to put a team.

Good question, I feel like it's been brought up many of times.

I'd love to go to games

Can't support the Pelicans

No way we can support an expansion team, or a team shitty enough to relocate.

It's the region in general, plus you have Houston not too far away

Other MLB teams said they would not compete in the swamp.

I dont think LSU baseball type attendance would be a good indicator for a pro team.

I think LSU baseball does good b/c of the small amount of games played and it is not during football season.

NOLA isn't a baseball town, and no one will drive 2+ hours to go to a game for a crappy product, IMO.

With 162 games, attendance would be the worst of all professional teams

It doesn't take people flooding in to every game to support a baseball team. I would attend a few a year. Just like the braves.

A stable baseball franchise doesn't rely on the fans that make 10-20 games a year.

They need the fans that go 2-3 times a week on home series.

The braves provide more than enough disappointment for the majority of the south to endure.

because MLB has already determined that the product would not do well in Louisiana.

If the World Series ended at the end of August you might have a case. Once football season starts there's not much interest in baseball in Sept and October. Football is KING sport in Louisiana. The only baseball passion here is in Baton Rouge and it's predominantly a college town and LSU baseball is where it is at because of the level of success Skip brought to the program. I honestly don't think there's enough interest in pro baseball here to support a franchise.
