MLB clubs rely heavily on season ticket sales, and most of those are bought up by companies who need an event to treat a client out to. Sure, clubs like it when fans come out to 10-20 games per year, but that isn't enough of a financial base to support the team. Plus, the New Orleans metro area is smaller than any other area that currently has a team. Milwaukee is currently the smallest market with a team and they are at 2 million residents. The New Orleans area currently has 1.5 million.

Tampa has twice as many people as NO and they barely can support a good team.

I think we need the Pels to win first. We need a product that commands attendance with the teams we have already.

If the attendance for those teams can be consistent for a period of time, then we may be able to throw our name in the hat. Until then, we need to make sure that owners see us support the teams we have.

There is a big enough market to share. It would take time, but we have the rest of our lives.

Shaq could be a owner.

Yeah but doesn't that have more to do with the stadium being like an hour away from downtown Tampa?

I wish we had a baseball team instead of basketball.

Well over 2.5 million people live within an hour(ish) of New Orleans, but I just can't see us supporting 81 home games a year.

Truth. Expecting some good crowds in the PMAC this year, though.
